40 years in business

On 4th February 2026 we were delighted to celebrate an amazing 40 years in business.

Our story began in 1986 when David Protheroe and Douglas Lamb decided to form a corrugated packaging factory in East Kilbride.

The year that Top Gun opened in the cinemas, Haley’s Comet paid Planet Earth a visit, and The Phantom of the Opera opened in London’s West End.

The world and the packaging industry has evolved a lot since we first opened our doors!

From 1986 until 2016 the business remained under the ownership of David and Douglas until we were acquired by Logson Group, and it’s been an exciting chapter since then.

During that time technology has advanced at a staggering rate. This has undoubtedly shaped the business, defining its capabilities and its people. Now, we have an enviable machinery portfolio allowing us to manufacture a huge range of corrugated packaging and placing us as one of the leading businesses in our sector.

Our most recent investment saw the creation of a dedicated case-making facility (adjacent to our main manufacturing site) new design studio and material handling line and the installation of a BOBST Expertflex 6 colour High Quality Printer bringing the best corrugated printing technology to Scotland.

Working in tandem with Boxes and Packaging (Dumbarton) we have capitalised on the additional manufacturing capacity bringing a great agility to the service we deliver to our customers.

At the beginning of this year, we also appointed a new Managing Director, Kenny Edwards, who joined just as began our fifth decade in business.

Commenting on the occasion Kenny said, “We had such a good day celebrating and enjoyed an all-staff lunch to mark the occasion where everyone from Boxshop and Boxes and Packaging (Dumbarton) stopped work for a while so they could all be together.

“It was a pleasure to see the great camaraderie and team spirit between everyone, right from those who have been with the business for many years, to those newest team members.

“Now, as we look forward, I am very pleased to guide the business and our team into the next chapter of its history.”
