Our long serving team

As we reminisced during our 40th anniversary celebrations it was particularly lovely to hear about the memories that some of our longest serving team members had of a Boxshop many years ago.

Five of our team have been here for over 25 years with our longest serving colleague, Craig Smith, clocking up an amazing 39 years!

Craig remembers being hired by Douglas and David, the owners and people who established Boxshop and whilst Craig works as a Sales Manager now, he has worked in many different roles during his time with the business giving him an unrivalled knowledge of corrugated packaging, the business and the industry.

Back when technology wasn’t really a thing, Craig remembers hand cutting samples for customers and hand setting machines.
Craig commented; “Things may be different now, but it’s always been a great place to work whether we were working prices out with a tape measure, pen and paper or using our bespoke software.

“The people have definitely made my career here so enjoyable and I’m looking forward to a new chapter with new leadership and positivity.”

Other long serving team members include Joanne Turner, Accounts Assistant (37 years), Maggie Campbell, Transport Co-ordinator (36 years), Marion Reid, Team Leader (33 years) and Paul O’Connor, Lead Planner (38 years).

Marion added; “It’s quite unusual for people to stay in their jobs for so long but when you enjoy what you do and the people you work with it’s always seemed the right thing to do to me.
“I’ve got lots of happy memories at Boxshop and I’m looking forward to making more in the years ahead.”

Kenny Edwards, Managing Director, Boxshop added; “These people have clocked up over 180 years’ service between them, and I thank them all for their dedication to the business.”

Boxshop was established in 1986 by then owners Douglas Lamb and David Protheroe. It stayed under their ownership before it was acquired by the Logson Group, ten years ago, in 2016.
