Premium drinks gift set packaging

The challenge was to create an e-Commerce pack to hold three x 5cl tasting vials and one traditional whisky glass delivered through the mail or courier network. It was to be visually appealing, on brand and protect product whilst giving a positive unboxing experience for the recipient.

The brief was somewhat challenging as the 5cl vials are a much smaller diameter compared to the whisky glass, so the fitment is designed in such a way that the vials are suspended in the middle of the depth of the pack. This achieves a nicer presentation of the product inside, while also providing additional protection during postal delivery.

The outer pack is a standard 0427 but tagged to the sheet is an intricate single piece fitment. Material grade is 170K/170T in E flute.

By having the fitment tagged into the same die cut sheet we have some up-front cost to the customer by not having to pay for 2 formes and 2 printing plates. This also reduced the total board required slightly compared to if these parts had been made separately.

The main benefit however is that it has enabled a much smaller, bespoke whisky brand to reach a much wider customer base more easily by selling from their own e-Commerce store, compared to the more traditional way of trying to get their products into whisky shops and supermarkets.

The customer was very pleased with the solution we provided and numerous repeat orders after the initial 2000 have been ordered.

It highlights how our skills can be transferred to smaller scale products and production runs, supporting a small distillery and giving them a solution that will allow them to grow their market share and promote their brand.
