How our assembly service helps customers
20 May 2026
One of the services we offer to some customers is an assembly service – where elements of their packaging are assembled on site a Boxshop before despatch to their facility.
The type of work we do in this area differs wildly – from assembling and gluing internal fittings, to placing flat-pack fittings within packs ready for delivery.
With a dedicated assembly area, we have a team entirely focused on delivering this service and our customer service team and sales managers work with our customers to understand their business needs and how best we can support them.
What is our assembly service?
Our assembly service is tailored to each customer requirements and offers gluing of fittings, assembly of dividers and packs and
After all the components of a pack have been manufactured by our production team, sometimes customers prefer our assembly experts to finish their boxes or packs off, rather than us deliver the components separately for them to assemble.
This can often be because of storage challenges at the customer base, a lack of staff to do the work, or simply tapping into our expertise.
This is where our team can step in, supporting our customers wider business operations by offering extending corrugated packaging support.
Types of assembly work
There are various types of assembly work, however whilst there are typical ones, we do consult with new and existing customers to ascertain if we are able to support.
These are three of the most common types of assembly work we currently do –
Assembly of internal fittings – This sees our team assemble, and perhaps glue, a whole host of internal fittings specifically designed and manufactured to protect our customers products.
Assembly of components – The assembly of other pack components is also undertaken, and these could be additional internal packs for additional product requirements such as instructions, charging cable etc.
Pack assembly – Often we work with customers to fit components of the pack together so that all our customers have to do is pack the product. Most of the time these are still supplied in the flat.
How can customers access our assembly service?
If this sounds like a service that your business operations could benefit from we recommend that you chat to one of our sales managers who will go through a comprehensive scoping process to fully understand not only your packaging requirements but also how the packaging is utilised within your business operations.
They will determine:
*What the current use of packaging is?
* If there is a current design and if it is performing to expectations?
*Volumes of packaging required and current delivery schedules
*How is the packaging used in day-to-day operations?
*Whether the current packing process is effective or if it could be improved?
*Whether a new design and our assembly service will add value to the customer operations?
Kenny Edwards, Managing Director, Boxshop commented; “This is a service that sets Boxshop apart from its competitors and many of our customer benefit exponentially from being able to access these added value solutions.
“We look forward to helping more customers access this service alongside our more traditional process of designing, manufacturing and delivering our packaging .”
