Apprentice printer going from strength to strength

Ben Mathieson joined the Boxshop team in 2021 as an apprentice printer and is going from strength to strength.

Having recently celebrated his 18th birthday, Ben, who is undertaking his City and Guilds apprenticeship through Attain Training works predominantly on the four colour TCY printer, however he will be part of the team working on a new printer that is to be installed in Q1 of 2023.

The Bobst Expertflex six colour HQPP printer which will support food and drink sectors, ecommerce, and those with a requirement for corrugated packaging with exceptional print quality will be installed at Boxshop significantly upgrading its printing range.

Alison Milligan, Head of Operations, Boxshop commented; “It is very important to us that we encourage and support the next generation of skilled staff at Boxshop, and Ben is already proving to be a valuable member of our team.

“He is excelling at his apprenticeship and has received very positive feedback from the knowledgeable and experienced printing team that he is part of.

“He will be visiting our sister company Cardboard Box Company early in the new year for some additional training with the team there and I know that he will be a great asset to the business as he continues build his career with us.”
